What if anxiety is just an alarm system that is alerting us to a necessary change in how we are thinking or living?
- Hunger points us to the need for nourishment
- Thirst points us to the need for water
- Anxiety points us to needs like purpose, meaning, peace, etc.
When an alarm goes off, we don't study the alarm, we allow the alarm to point us to the problem. Anxiety is the alarm, not the problem.
